Jayasurya was earlier in the centre of public attention for his personal efforts in filling up potholes in roads of his hometown. He even received flaks for it from the then Mayor Tony Chammany and PWD Minister V. K. Ebrahim Kunju. They describe it as publicity stunt. Now he is again in limelight for a video posted in Facebook addressing Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan explaining the pathetic conditions of roads and woes people are facing every day out of it.

Two days after it, the CM through his official page in Facebook gave a reply to the actor. He appreciated the efforts of the actor and also for finding time to take up this issue when he was busy with the promotions of the upcoming film Pretham. He also wished all success for the actor`s new film. CM gave a detailed reply mentioning the efforts taken by the government and what he plans to do to solve this issue. He also sought the support of corporate houses and also people like Jayasurya using their CSR funds to collaborate with local bodies and the public departments to tackle this issue.
